The Stafford Family

The only member of this line identified so far is Ann Stafford, the six times great grandmother of Calum, Jamie and Pippa, who resided in Co. Donegal, Ireland.

Ann Stafford
Abt 1800 - 11/9/1870

Ann was Calum's Jamie's and Pippa's six times great grandmother.

Very little is known about Ann. She married Robert Strain at some stage prior to 1823, and had at least eight children with him in the parish of Raphoe, Co. Donegal, Ireland.

DNA connections to descendants of her daughter Eliza Jane, born in about 1823, and who later emigrated to New Zealand, confirmed Ann's maiden name as Stafford. No marriage record has been found for her in Ireland to Robert.

Ann predeceased her husband on 11 SEP 1870 at Tullyvinny townland, Raphoe. In her death record she was noted as a labourer's wife (Source: RootsIreland.ie). The full original record has yet to be consulted.
